The girls are showing all signs indicating that they are ready. 1. Playing in their poop (gross). 2. Telling me they are shhhuuuwwweee. 3. Not wanting to sit in a wet diaper for a long period of time. I thought we would give it a go and well, looks like we will try it again in a few weeks.
Livi pee pee'din the potty once and she was soooo proud of herself (filled my momma heart up with love). Londyn was not buying it, she would pee in her panties and immediately tell me potty so I don't think she knows she needs to go until she is midpee. Giving my girls a big high five for trying, potty training date in a few weeks. No Rush!
Momma's, I have done lots of potty training reading (probably too much) but I would LOVE to hear what actually worked or didn't work for you, share your secrets!!!

I have been reading the girls a potty book for about 2 weeks and we have been talking potty talk lots. I would put them on the toilet about every 30 minutes and read them the book while they were going. If they were successful (once) I did the potty dance and gave praise, also rewarded with the m&m (wasn't a fan of this idea but I gave it a go cause almost everything I read said too... peer pressure).

I'm not sure how hard this would be with twins but we did the 3-Day Potty Training Method with Hailey and it worked out great for us. http://www.3daypottytraining.com
You can download the ebook and follow the method. Basically you throw away the diapers (we made a big deal about this and had Hailey throw them away), spend 3 days doing nothing but following them around and encouraging them to tell you when they need to go potty and making sure you catch them in the act so you can rush them to the bathroom. It's really hard and there are a lot of accidents to clean up but somehow by the end of the 3rd day it just clicked. Like I said, it is probably so much harder with twins though! Good luck! I'm sure they'll figure it out soon!
Thank you so much Amy! I am checking the website out now. How old was Hailey when you potty trained?
You are my hero if you get those girls trained at 2!! Don't stress too much; they are still really young to be potty trained. We talk about it and sit on the potty, but don't push the issue. When they are ready it will be an easy transition.
Keep us posted!
I started with the girls when they were 2, but it took 6-8 months with one of them and almost a year with the other. At first, it was just letting sit on the potty a few times a week...then at 2.5, it doing it full time with one of them...she was ready and was fully potty trained within a month. The other she was just not ready and I didn't push it until she was 3. It only took about a month for her once she was ready, which I think has a lot to do with it as well. I did use pull ups, but I used them like underwear. They knew they should not go in them. Then I moved to underwear after 2 weeks. It works for us, but I think it is different for every child. Good Luck!
