Better Late Than Never... Right???
We have been crazy busy here at the Cox home. School is almost out, we have been showing the house lots, we had the girls birthday party, Allen has been out of town for work, and well... we are worn out. I am SO SO SO excited for summer. I love my job but I am ready to hang out with my lovies each and every day. I have big summer plans for us... Summer Bucket List 2011 coming soon... along with birthday party pics.We had a wonderful Easter this year. We spent it in Madill with Allen's family. We enjoyed great company, excellent food, outdoor sports, and of course, egg hunts. I was so excited because the girls actually got into this holiday and somewhat understood that this day was a little different than any other.
We celebrated with the Easter Bunny visiting and we talked to our girls about the true meaning of Easter. Next year, I am going to read the girl a book which explains Easter in an age appropriate way and each evening leading up to Easter Sunday the girls will open eggs that have biblical representations of what Easter is truly about... I am hoping this will lead into great discussions and a nightly question and answer session.
Easter Tradition... The Easter Bunny rings the doorbell and leaves the girls Easter baskets on the door step. It's a pretty easy job right now but I know in the later years it will become more challenging. When I met Allen his (our) niece Kenzie, was 2 and I have watched this tradition for 10 years now... I always loved seeing the eagerness on her face and then seeing the confused look on her face... where did the Easter Bunny go??? I am so excited to see this become a tradition for my girls.
