Snow Days

Well all last week we were stuck inside due to the snowstorm and well, my girls were sick...the entire week!!! I was SO glad that I was off work because these girls needed their momma and I wanted to be there with them. They had a nasty virus, coughing, fever, snotty noses, and they just didn't feel good. I told my hubby, "I think have bruises all over my body from holding babies!"

The girls were finally ready to play by Friday night so, we made cupcakes!!!The girls loved it, I let them ice them themselves and they thoroughly enjoyed it!

Yes, Livi is doing push-ups with daddy!!!
Watching an old car video with Pa.... so sweet, she was patting to the beat on his leg!

As most of you already know, my children are basically obsessed with bath time, they love it. Well, we have now discovered the joy of the bath robe. They are taking after their momma on this, I too love being comfy in the bath robe.

 Sisterly LOVE!!!

So, I am putting away some laundry and the girls insisted on helping.... well help unfold it that is. I literally turned around and Londyn had put this t-shirt on by herself (no lie), I did help Livi put hers on. Oh and yes, they did choose the attire (love my little angels) themselves, honest!

And then, I went to run on the treadmill and this is what I came in to find... looks like they were having some fun with daddy... he thought it was quite hilarious!!!

We finally made it out of the house on Saturday, my girls didn't care to much for the snow!

Hope you all have a great week!!!

Take the Time!!!

I am often uncertain as to what I want to title my posts so when I was choosing this one I thought, Take the Time!!! Take the time to play with your children, regardless of their age, play with them. Many people will say that at one and a half they won't remember but I disagree. They may not remember a specific memory but the memories coupled together are sure to leave a very definite mark on who they are and what they will become.

Here are just a few ways we play...

One of my girls favorite places is the bath tub. Every night they will point their sweet little fingers towards the bathroom, scoot towards the hall, and say bath (in that sweet little voice). Ever since we brought the girls home I have sang this song to them in the bath...

Splish Splash Londyn and Livi are taking a bath, all on a _______ night. Feels so good, feels so right, oooh mommy you know what we like boom boom boom boom.... Dorky I know but they love it!!!

We play another game called waterfall, I pour water over the head and say waterfall, so creative! =)

This is a perfect place to teach them their letters. I introduce 1 to 2 letters a week, we say the sound, the name, and I have them trace it several times. They LOVE this, when they see me pulling a new letter out they clap and say yeah!!!

You can't take a bath without a cup!
 Trying to waterfall herself...
 The LETTER girl!!!
This child loves letters, she is
constantly telling me their sounds.

We also love tea parties in the tub!

The girls are always excited when I pull out the play-doh and the crayons!!! Of course we have to see how it tastes while we are playing...

I have found that when they play with play-doh it is best to give them something to use with the play-doh!

It is most likely that you will find me sitting on the floor singing songs with my girls. Livia's favorite song is Wheels on the Bus and Londyn's favorite is Itsy Bitsy Spider, they both LOVE Open, Shut Them, Twinkle, Twinkle, ABC's, Where is Thumbkin, Jesus Loves Me, If Your Happy and You Know It, and anything else that has hand motions.

And who doesn't love putting on a princess crown and daddy's sneakers...

The girls LOVE ice cream nights! We put a little ice cream in a bowl and let them eat it picnic style on the carpet in the living room while they watch a little sprout. They ALWAYS make a mess, laugh a lot, and feel oh so independent!

Overall my girls have a good diet. I think they eat a pretty well balanced meal. The girls are vegetarians, they hate meat so we eat lots of veggies, fruits, and pastas. On the weekend I am more lenient, we might indulge in ice cream, a sucker, some chocolate, who knows... we don't get all of it in one weekend but we definitely enjoy our little sweet treats!!!

They didn't even have half of this... too rich but so yummy!!!!

My girls are VERY social. They absolutely LOVE mother's day out, the church nursery, birthday parties, and any play date. I find as many opportunities that I can so that they can interact with others!!!

My girls adore their daddy, they gravitate towards them. Allen is so great with the girls and is never hesitant to get on the floor and play with them!!!

The girls loved to get into tight spots, play in their baby strollers, and just be silly!!!! Enjoy these fun playing pics!!! =)

I hope you all have fun playing with your babies on this wonderful snowy day!!!
Be Safe and Stay Warm!!
